Media Blast Cabinet Film Feeder with Lights

This units installs over the window opening of your media blast cabinet using an adapter plate. The housing is made of heavy-duty thermoformed ABS with double wall construction around the window. The window is 6mm thick polycarbonate for safety and has a scratch resistant coating for many hours of use. There are continuous 24VDC LED lights to the right and left of the window, casting light directly on the parts being blasted from the view of the technician. Because of the light location other lights may not be necessary. These lights have a very low operating temperature and are vibration resistant if you are using a shaker. The light manufacturer claims about 50,000 hours of operation. The unit holds up to a 100-foot-long roll of .0075" thick Mylar to protect the window. The viewing window is 12" wide and 8.25" tall. When the Mylar becomes too abraded to see through, the film is advanced by simply turning the large knob. The lights are also behind the film, so the original intensity is restored. It takes less than 10 seconds to refresh the viewing area.
The window size was a compromise of too little and too big. One company had their window sized down to 6 inches wide and 4 inches tall. Below is a picture of a cabinet with a reduced window, about 7 inches wide and 6 inches tall. Based on customer demand several cabinet manufacturers are making their windows bigger. These windows are more expensive and require bigger more expensive underlayment. The reality is an operator's lateral movement is limited by their arms being in the cabinet. If you think the window size is an issue, we suggest you cover your window with cardboard with a 12" X 8.25" cutout and see if it limits your effectiveness.

So many blast cabinets like he one on the left are built like tanks, the basic structure will never wear out. However, there are some parts that will wear out and some that never get properly maintained making the cabinet worthless, we can change that. Using Rolling Clear View and/or our LED lighting these cabinets can be brought back being more productive than ever.
In the coming weeks this blast cabinet will be stripped down to bare metal, painted, reassembled with new hardware where needed, new top light, and RCV-12.
